Athletics Kenya (AK) has selected six athletes to represent the country at the forthcoming World Athletics Indoor Championships, scheduled for March 20- 22, 2026, in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland.

In a statement sent to media houses on Thursday, AK emphasized that the team features a blend of experienced competitors and emerging talent across middle-distance and sprint events.

"Kenya seeks strong performances on the global indoor stage. The championships will bring together the world’s top indoor athletes in what promises to be a highly competitive three-day event," the statement read.

Leading the team is 23-year-old Brian Tinega, who has a personal best of 45.68 seconds this year in the 400m. He won a Silver medal at the 2024 African Championships in Douala, Cameroon, and a Bronze medal in the 4×400 m at the 2025 World Relays Championships in Guangzhou, China.

Noah Kibet will represent Kenya in the 800m, aiming to build on his previous successes, including a Bronze medal at the 2021 World U-20 Championships in Nairobi and a Silver medal at the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade.

Decorated 24-year-old Jacob Krop will compete in the 3000m. Krop is a two-time World Athletics Championships 5000 m medallist (Silver in 2022, Bronze in 2023) and participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Three women have been selected for the Poland assignment. Leading the group is 400 m national record holder Mercy Adongo Oketch, who also won a Bronze medal in Guangzhou last year.

Twenty-year-old Rosemary Longisa, a student-athlete from Washington State University, USA, has been selected for the 800 m, while 30-year-old Susan Lokayo Ejore, based in Arizona, USA, and a 2024 Paris Olympian, will compete in the 1500m.
